Family and friends are mourning the tragic and sudden death of Austin Yoder.

Austin died following a tragic farm accident on Saturday, November 25, 2023, leaving behind his beloved family, friends and many who knew him.

The Leon Yoder Award is named after Austin’s late Father and is the highest honor given to Bakersville Ohio Tractor Pullers. Austin presented it each year. In 2023 he gave it to his cousin Vernon Mizer.

“Awesome. That’s what I always called my buddy. Never Austin. Always awesome, because he was. He was my friend. He was a friend and family to our whole community. Austin’s death yesterday in a farm accident has our community shocked. Saddened. We keep hoping it isn’t true, but it is. I have known Austin all his life. He was a farm boy, through and through,” a post made on Bakersville Ohio Tractor Pullers’ Facebook page said.
