A CLIP has gone viral of a man that resembles similar features to Drake dressed up as Ice Spice for halloween.

The video has sparked a debate over whether the person in question is the God's Plan singer. Here's what we know.

Why is Drake's Halloween costume trending?

The rumors began when X (formerly known as Twitter) user @NATERERUN took to the social networking site on October 30 and shared a tweet of a halloween costume.

He wrote: “Drake dresses up as ice spice for Halloween this year.”

The user attached a video of a man looking like the rapper, wearing a wig similar to Ice Spice’s signature ginger hairdo.

He was also dressed in a pink velour tracksuit and what looks like a chunky diamond necklace.

Did Drake dress up as Ice Spice?

Several publications like Hot News Hip Hop and Complex have now confirmed that it was not Drake in the video.

The person in the clip was actually X user @daevionstaples.

On October 29, Dae took to the site and uploaded a picture of himself dressed as Ice Spice.

He also wrote in the tweet: “Stop playing with ‘em, RIOT.”

Dae later tweeted alongside some crying-laughing emojis: "Drake probably hates me for all these videos like sir I love you I’m sorry.

"Obviously I’m not Drake lmaooo like what do y’all not understand."

X users rushed to the comments to share their thoughts, with one writing: "The fact that y’all really believe that’s Drake is [wild] 😂😂😂😂."

"Lmaooo he should’ve worn a skater skirt & really brought it home 😭😂," another chimed in.

This is not the first time Drake has been subject to a doppelganger.

In 2022, he issued a cease and desist to his lookalike Izzy Drake, who goes by the name of Fake Drake online.

According to Hip Hop DX, the impersonator received a legal letter from the singer’s OVO music label, which demanded that the impersonator stopped using Drakes name and trademarks.

OVO claimed that the lookalike’s claims were “damaging and defamatory” to their brand.

Izzy subsequently changed his name to Izzy Famous.

They reportedly made an impressive $5,000 to show up at events as a “Fake Drake” of sorts.

The cease and desist notice comes after Izzy Drake claimed Drake threatened to slap him while they were both in Miami in early 2022.

“I pulled up to Drake’s hotel room, let’s just say it wasn’t very inviting,” he told the We In Miami Podcast in August. “They tried coming at us, they just tried coming at us so I ended up texting him, telling him about the fight and he said that he’s gonna go up and slap me for free.”
